Ominous jazz-soul vocals meet 90’s inspired trip-hop and DnB beats in Kaia Vieira’s world of groove and grit. Influenced heavily by the current UK underground movements of modern soul, electro-jazz and the heavier ends of DnB/dubstep, Kaia crafts the range of her influences into a strikingly unique sound, embodying the heart of her favourite movements whilst rebelling relentlessly against genre boundaries. Fans talk of connecting to Kaia’s conscious and authentic song-writing as well as her defining sound, liking her music to the realms of Portishead, Erykah Badu and James Blake.
Kaia spent her teenage years gigging and making a name for herself in her hometown Bournemouth, releasing her predominantly self-written and produced debut EP ‘Raw’ in July 2018. She has since relocated to London to pursue music full-time, studying at BIMM and building a following gigging and busking across London. With a successful sell-out launch night at The Troubadour for new single ‘Make It Your Own Way’, a recent collaboration with UK beatbox champion Bass Ventura and currently in the studio working on her upcoming EP ‘Vikara’, Kaia is certainly an emerging UK artist to watch.
